Wensleydale Farms

It’s been awhile since there’s been a farm update around here! Things have been spinning almost out of control since the Open House at the end of July! It’s past time to start working on the next one but…… anyway….. On to what you came for : photos!

Checkers says ‘Good morning! Where’s my food?’

Let’s see since update there are two new cria! One is from Lexi (a personal favorite). Aren’t they cute?

Miss Lexi has a keen awareness of the camera and where she should be in order to be best positioned in the frame…. also, I think this is the first time she’s ever let me take a photo of the ‘non-beauty marked’ side of her face!

Rah is the oldest 2012 cria and he’s still doing wonderfully. Inquisitive but calm and a bit of an instigator, this guy might spell trouble! Gorgeous fiber color as well.

Darling Summer Breeze is the second oldest cria from 2012. She’s settling in nicely as the bold, fun loving girl.

Who does that leave?

Oh yeah! Greystones! Where is that little guy……

Ah… hiding behind his mother. Hopefully he’ll come out to play with the camera soon!

Want to keep in touch with the farm? Find them on facebook! Or their website! Farm shop will be opening between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and there are some great items that would fit perfectly under your Christmas tree!

Belle and Andrea

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit a good friend in September, take a ride at the barn where I rode in college and snap a few shots of Miss Belle and Andrea. Aren’t they sweet?

Love them! Belle is an older gal, but you’d never know it! What a face!

Yup, she rides bitless/English Hackamore — just like Des and I. I’m really enjoying a similar bridle with Des and I think Andrea enjoys how Belle handles in this one as well!

Andrea, thanks for letting me join you for a morning! Everyone else, don’t forget to show Belle and Andrea some love!

Adoptable Horse – Raven | Madison, WI Photographer

Wooohooo! Rolling out a new blog series! I’ll be posting every other month (or so) with a new animal that is looking for a loving home in Wisconsin. Please share these posts with your friends and let’s get some animals GREAT homes!

This month, CHP is featuring Raven from Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary (AGES) in Elkhart Lake, WI. I was fortunate to be able to visit AGES on Christmas Eve and meet the lovely equines there and it’s great owner! If you’re looking for a bunch of friendly equines, search no farther! And here’s a peek at the beautiful Miss Raven.

Here’s what Erin has to say about Raven:

Billy’s Girl aka Raven is a coal black registered Thoroughbred unraced mare standing 15.3hh and is 21 years and still going strong.  She has a big body, big stride and is calm enough for an advanced beginner.  She loves showing her bad self off to get everyones attention!  She is a very lovely mare who has done many years of arena work and loves the riding environment!  She has some arthritis in one front knee which stays sound as long as she remains on Smartflex senior which costs about $1 a day.  She did many years showing where she achieved 2nd level in dressage!  She is still eager to do arena work and would do best with someone who wants to do light riding or as a lesson horse.  She is great for the vet, loads like a dream, and adjusts very well to new places and situations.  She has not done a lot of trails however she may be able to do so with an experienced rider and another companion horse used to trails.  She is utd and really needs her perfect someone to step up and claim this showgirl!!  Raven’s adoption fee is $300 to an approved home.  Applications can be downloaded at our website.

And here’s a photo AGES sent of Raven being ridden!

Isn’t she just gorgeous? Who has room in their heart and barn for this darling? Contact A.G.E.S. today! On facebook or their website!
